Adult Basic Education

Adult Basic Education (ABE) provides basic skills instruction to adults, age 17 and older, who are not otherwise enrolled in school. NIACC ABE offers classes in General Education Development (GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Education for Persons with Developmental Disabilities

ABE helps eligible adults:

learn basic reading and math skills
benefit from job training and retraining programs
complete secondary school

Who is an ABE student?

Adults needing basic skills
Adults who need training to become employable
Adults with limited English language skills
Any unemployed or underemployed person in need of job seeking or pre-employment skills
