“They just wanted to win more than we did,” NIACC coach Mark Mohl said. “They have a nice team and they out-executed us and out-coached us.”
NIACC (11-5, 2-1), which trailed 28-23 at halftime, was led by Terril Ross’ 12 points.
Kyle Cooper and James Henderson added 10 points apiece for the Trojans, who host the Central College JV on Tuesday.
“We’ll get back to work,” Mohl said. “We have to keep our heads up.”

CRESTON — The NIACC women’s basketball team fell to Southwestern Community College, 62-56, in ICCAC action on Saturday.
“We played hard, played a very complete game,” NIACC assistant coach Kelli Terrell said. “We just need to get a win and turn the corner.”
Tiffany Braun led the Lady Trojans (2-14 overall) with 19 points while Nicole Eenhuis added 15 points before fouling out.
NIACC returns to action on Wednesday at Marshalltown.
